Guided Hikes in Osum Canyon
Three guided hikes near Çorovodë: two river hikes through Osum Canyon and one hike to the Lost Castle. Choose by duration, price and season.
Our Guided Hikes
All three hikes have a guide with you throughout and start from the Rafting Osum Canyon base. The two canyon hikes run in the river bed of Osum Canyon and need basic swimming ability. The Lost Castle hike goes up to the old walls of Skrapar Castle.
Half Canyon Hiking
You drive up to the start point and hike down the river bed to the waterfalls. At the waterfalls there is an optional jump from a rock into the water, then a short climb up to the top where the car is waiting. Basic swimming ability is required.
Full Canyon Hiking
You hike down through the whole canyon to the end of the canyon, on water, rocks and sand, with optional jumping and swimming along the way. Basic swimming ability is required.
Hiking to the Lost Castle
A hike from Guest House Marsi in Munushtir up to the old walls of Skrapar Castle, then down to the Varisht river beach on the Osum. It runs all year.

Which guided hikes do you offer?
We offer three guided hikes near Çorovodë: Half Canyon Hiking (about 2.5 hours, €35 per person), Full Canyon Hiking (about 6 hours, €80 per person) and Hiking to the Lost Castle (about 3.5 hours, €45 per person).
Which hike is right for me?
Choose Half Canyon Hiking for a shorter river hike down to the waterfalls, and Full Canyon Hiking to hike through the whole canyon. Both need basic swimming ability. Choose the Lost Castle hike if you prefer a hike up to the old castle walls that does not need swimming.
When do the hikes run?
Half Canyon Hiking and Full Canyon Hiking run from June 15 to October 5. The Lost Castle hike runs all year and is best in spring and autumn.
Do I need to know how to swim?
Yes, for Half Canyon Hiking and Full Canyon Hiking. Basic swimming ability is required, because there are places where you must swim to cross the river. The life jacket helps, but you still need to be able to swim. Jumping from rocks is optional. The Lost Castle hike does not need swimming.
What are the age limits?
The minimum age is 9 and the maximum age is 79 on all three hikes.
